I never know what to do when...
May. 26th, 2007 11:33 pm... I see someone staying in a hotel (or my apartment complex) who's failed to turn on his/her network security settings.
I just poked around in someone's computer for a few minutes (looks like a talented graphic artist and video game designer), got his name and email, and sent him a tactful and friendly email warning him that some of his computer is visible to anyone with a wireless card. I hope I don't get sued or something!

Date: 2007-05-28 04:29 am (UTC)That's the first time I've managed to get into someone's computer, although i do have a couple neighbors in my apartment complex who don't seem to have their wireless routers secure.

Date: 2007-06-05 03:17 pm (UTC)I remember when I setup my sis's new laptop I took it upstairs and saw about 6 nearby wireless hubs from neighbors and only one of them had it encrypted and locked. I knew every single house because everyone liked using their own last names for the networks. haha!
