A fresh wave of cool, shimmering magic washed over her. Lulu would have been staggered by it were she not already flattened. Dear Yevon, the power in Yuna's hands, so different from her own! She wanted to lie there basking in its blissful current. Instead, she caught Yuna’s wrist, shaking her head no. “I’m fine,” she rasped. “I was stunned, that’s all. Yuna, look where Kimahri’s spear fell. The garuda was right behind you.”

For once, Yuna was almost shaking with anger. “Why did you get so close? You could’ve been killed!”

Lulu sat up stiffly, mustering a trace of her own fire and spitting back at her, “And you would have been, had Kimahri not been here!”

She blanched. “But—”

“Don’t you remember? That’s how I lost Lady Ginnem! A dead summoner can’t defeat Sin, and nobody will remember her except the guardians who failed her!”

Kimahri erupted in a low rumbling growl.

Yuna, looking a little stunned herself, crumpled and dropped her eyes. “I know, but you... I mean... I’m sorry, Lulu. I didn’t think. You were testing me, weren’t you?”
