Trying to decide between one of several drafts of the next chapter of LHaD, I have a dilemma.[Poll #1590537]
I donno. I like the description of the floating-in-the-Farplane sequence better. There's a few details that please my "grand finales should be grand" instinct. But the second option seems a little more believable, as much as any endgame battle in Final Fantasy is ever believable (in fact, every one I can remember takes place floating through space on a platform, or nothing at all).

And on the third hand, most Final Fantasy games conclude with 3-4 big boss battles, and this is only #2, not the traditional flying-through-space-on-a-WTF-magic-carpet battle.

I also voted plausible, but because I like the thought of the random bits of Spira smooshed together. Kinda like the final area in Kingdom Hearts.

Thank you!

I may wind up writing it both ways and seeing how it looks at the end.

More plausible may be better. I love writing surreal, but there are things that work better in a game medium than text.

It has been fascinating taking the style of Final Fantasy games -- VII through XII, since those are the ones I know -- and adapting some of the tropes, plot movements, and archetypes that keep cropping up in them.

I went with the plausible landscape. Though, my reasoning is that I think you can make it seem totally badass. reminds me of the Dead Fantasy video with Yuna calling on all of her aeons and having a massive battle sequence. guh! thus, I know you could pull that off in a writing way to get the imagery going in writer's minds.

BTW, I am off to go catch up on LHAD cuz I have freeeeeeeedom today! next couple weekends of July then August are fresh stocked full of family events and Vegas con. :p

Yaaay!

Dead Fantasy --oh, thank you. I need more inspiration for battle writing stuff. I'll watch a few AMVs to get myself in "adrenaline mode."

I'd like to see what you'd do with the second option. You've done so well with the hellish flickering changes of Lulu's Sin landscape, I think you could do a similar thing in the final battle.
