This is one of the most ghastly sounds you will ever hear, between the condition of my voice, and my amazing ability to turn every pretty Japanese vowel into a New Jersey diphthong.

However, it is probably the only time in my life I will ever be able to sing bass. I was racking my brains for a song normally sung in this range, and thought, "Well, I sound like a Ronso."

Except I found that even the Ronso version was too high, and had to go with Yojimbo's.

Bad news? Helluva cold.
Good news? Waaaaait, one is allowed to breathe through one's nose with a cold? I...wow. Okay, so the surgery did do something major in there.
Sad but amusing news: My cat is not responding to the sound of my voice. She usually meows if I say anything to her.

Heh. I've had that happen. It's kind of hilarious to discover that your voice has suddenly plummeted several octaves. But you are clearly using it in the best possible way!

Ooh! Ooh! I had a cold not long after I received my license, and big dummy that I am, I called my mom to tell her that my sister and I were running a bit late one night. In my best Kathleen Turner as Linda Blair growl, I told mom, "Don't worry. I have Ashley and I'll be at the house soon."

Yeah, she nearly called the cops. I'm pretty sure she thought I was some hatchet-wielding psycho.

This was REALLY cool though! You should SO do more posts like this, especially since you're all awesome with languages! That would kick ass!

Feel better soon!

Wow. That's very funny!

I haven't done much singing lately. I used to compose songs for a monthly bardic get-together, and sometimes I would record them, but I've dropped out of the loop lately.

For comparison with my normal singing voice, here's Pippin's song (http://sepdet.istad.org/recordings/pippin.mp3) which I translated into Elvish. Dumb little sound program makes me sound like I'm in a cathedral. :D
