...You know the amusing/weird/interesting thing? We consider it more or less a matter of course to put the 'BDSM' label on fanfic, where applicable. But was there any such warning on my Roman Elegy textbook? No, there was not, even though I personally did a presentation on how Propertius likes it when his girlfriend beats him up.

Ah, those crazy Romans. They didn't actually invent swear words and wild sex, but they seem to have put the same diligence into them as in plumbing and concrete.
