More FFX fanfic junk food.
Oct. 16th, 2006 06:25 pmIt's strangely liberating to be writing a crapass fic purely for fun, instead of laboring to hone every word.

Only when I reread it last night I suddenly got the urge to start fiddling. I be obsessive compulsive.

Date: 2006-10-18 05:00 am (UTC)Of course, that's partly because I've spent umpty-odd years obsessing and absorbing grammar through the pores. Mine is by no means perfect, but between learning Latin, teaching Latin, and grading student papers, I've turned into an instinctive nitpicker!
All I can tell you is that ithe more you write and the harder you work at it, the more things like punctuation, sentence structure, and spelling become instinctive. I barely proofread or edit the papers I turn in for graduate school any more!
And on the third hand, you are absolutely right that fanfic writing is for FUN, dangit, and one shouldn't get so stressed and obsessive about it! But it's hard not to. We all wish to be appreciated. :)
