Let's Play Final Fantasy: Revenant Wings

As some but not all of you know, I got my hands on a flawless Mac OSX/ Nintendo DS emulator, DESmuME (why are they all alphabet soup?), and decided to play Revenant Wings on a whim.

And I am loving its retro-gamer, lightweight-and-fluff, pixellated tinyscreen ass, especially since I can scale up the graphics to a size I can actually see. It's just cute.




I'm having fun snarking away and offering commentary and screencaps, so for what it's worth:

Because NESticle was such an awesome name that every emulator since then has just been rubbish out of respect. ;-)

OOOOOOH! I love this game. I have the original and an NDS but the ability to play this emulated and scaled up is a big win.

Squeeeeeing.

Pause (without plastering the screen with a "Resume?" menu) and Saved States are also a win. although thanks to the "get experience points even if you fail miserably" option, I'm mostly using Save States to get screencaps I missed.

All the more reason to replay it using an emulator!

...remembering one boss battle about 2/3s of the way into the game that is painfully difficult...
