I will spoil nothing, but Nabaat is absolutely everything you could ask for. She will beat the pulp out of you with a sneer and a smile.


It's so good to hear that Evil Lulu voice once again, purring while she's playing with her food. Paula Tiso is a scary, scary woman. She has lots of fun battle quotes.


Apparently, like you, I have a masochistic streak. I don't normally enjoy getting my party decimated every few seconds in a long grinding boss battle. I feel proud that I kept them hanging on for a good twenty minutes before I gave up -- for now -- since she was healing faster than I could put a dent in her. I must study strategy ... there must be SOME way to get past her
defenses. Even if I never manage to beat her, it's fun dueling with her.


Also, I can use her to help me get back into Lulu's headspace for writing LHAD. I depend so much on character voices.


(speaking of voices, I noticed Elma/Drace/Yunalesca is voicing a couple minor npcs, including the Mystic in Serendipity, Shelinda has been reincarnated as one of those scary choco-call-girls in the casino, handing out prizes; and I'm 99% sure that Yeul is Shelke. Maroda pops up a few times as various npcs on guard duty. No sign of O'aka/Maechen/Old Dalan/Lt. Broccoli/Dwight Schultz, though. )

Edit *peers at IMdB* Good heavens. I went to grad school with Choco - loco - lina. I see Lucil/Dona, Axel/Reno/Isaaru, and most of the FFX voice crew listed as additional voices, and yes, Dwight Schultz IS there somewhere, phew. As is Gideon Emery (Balthier). Also... Caius is the VA for Red XIII in Advent Children. Snerk.

Caius is also the VA for War in Darksiders, Kain Highwind in anything in which he's been voiced, and Akihiko from Persona 3. I was doomed to root for him from the beginning. Caius fucking Ballad, man. unf that voice.

i've been noticing Lightning's voice in this go-round. i think when playing XIII, I was so distracted by Fang's knee-weakening Australian accent that I failed to notice Lightning who also has a wonderfully rich voice.

Have you played Mass Effect? Ali Hillis voices Liara T'Soni, a completely badass archaeologist/information broker in those games. And Troy Baker (Snow) voices a delightfully questioning-orientation macho man in Persona 4, as well as the asshole you love to hate in Mass Effect 3. XD

(I've gotten really into tracking VAs lately. Some of them are just so entertaining. Gideon Emery and Liam O'Brien--Balthier and Caius--have fun twitter feeds a lot of the time.)

No ME yet, but I have added Alli Hillis to my VAs I Like list, and that sounds promising.

One more VA that jumped out at me: I haven't checked IMDB, but it sounds to me like Al-Cid Margrace is moonlighting as the casino owner in Serendipity.

If you can handle the fact that it's a third-person shooter style, ME is absolutely incredible. I don't even have words for how much I love it. The paladin has played it for me and says that it's generously arranged for non-shooter-players, particularly on easy difficulties, which is a thing I haven't yet tested personally. But the plot is incredible, the voice acting is 5/5 stars, and the characters. Oh, my God, the characters. I am an explosion of sparkly hearts for that series everywhere.

You know, that would not surprise me if he is.
