Can anyone translate this for me?

There's this old Japanese (?) brazier that's been kicking around in my family forever.
I assumed it was the four seasons kanji, but now that I look more closely, it isn't. Translation? ("Made in Japan for tourists, contains lead, do not use" was my mother's theory).

It is upside-down (the writing). The design looks Chinese to me: I see clouds and a phoenix.

This would explain why I couldn't identify the kanji.

I would've taken another photo, but was heading out for the chiropractor.

Whereupon I got into a minor fender bender.

It's been that kind of a day.
