Sorry I've been so scarce this week! So many wonderful stories to read and review! 4 graduate school papers due in the course of 4 weeks, one of them my Master's exam, means I'm not able to be online for fun very much. Also, my research for a paper on "psyche and nature" landed me in the desert at the same time as some truly massive wildfires, but that's another story.

I've tinkered with icons while taking study breaks. Sooo... comment/credit if you find any worth taking, please!

You're back! A bit. Lovely icons, one can see that you're really getting Photoshop down. I especially like number 18.

Ooh, nice to see you're back!

I rather like 1, 5, 19, and 20. Especially 19 and 20. I also love the quote on 12 XD

I do have one suggestion, though. All your icons seem to be a little low on contrast and saturation. I wouldn't mention it if I thought it was a deliberate choice, but this is someting I've seen in I think all your icons. They look fine as is, but if you want to play with more variety in the future, try playing around with contrast and/or saturation (both under Image > Adjustments in PhotoShop). This can make for more vibrant images. Messing around with layers in Overlay or Soft Light mode will also usually tend in that direction. Something I tend to do to make an image pop a bit more is set the original image to Normal then make a layer each in Screen and Multiply mode, respectively. Then I play around with the opacity in each to get a good balance of dark and light. Anyway, it's something to have fun with if you choose =)

Hope you don't mind me suggesting things! I'm not much more experienced in PhotoShop than you are, so, uh, if I'm being obnoxious, feel free to say so!

Thank you!

Yes, i need that sort of feedback, because I'm using a Mac laptop, so the gamma's bound to be quite different. The colors are rather delicate and subtle, and I've noticed they can disappear altogether on my friends' PCs. I'll try and work with what looks a little garish to me. :)

Oh, God, I know all about the Mac --> PC transfer. I have a Mac myself, but have been doing most of my work on a PC. I use both when I develop web sites, and matching colours between the two is a HUGE pain >.<

Yeah, good luck with working with the Mac! Also, Photoshop tends to totally lie to you about colours. The gamma in the program itself is for some reason different from everything else ever. If you take a look at the image preview in "Save for Web," though, it'll show you how the image will look in other programs. That might help?

Absolutely!

And I'm glad someone liked #18 -- I thought it might appeal to the Auron/Seymour crowd, even if I can't wrap my head around that one.
