So. Months of sinus infections and depression later, I am poking my head back into community. Hello, community! Are you still there? Facebook, DW and IJ have eaten some; others are back in the embrace of real life or other fandoms.

My Muse is flatter than a board, although I am eager as ever to post the next part of Love Her and Despair. While I'm having trouble getting the big battle started, some of the best parts are still in my notes. Will anyone still be around to read the last chapter? At this rate, I wonder.

In sniffing around, I noticed a comment from Renay a few months back asking if I was going to be on AO3. Well, it interests me, although getting my Muse (or, for that matter, my sinus infection/depression fogged brain) back matters more.

After much flailing to remember what AO3 stood for (and thus the URL) I signed up, put into the queue. It told me I could expect an answer on July 18. Great! Wait...that's today. This evening, it says I can expect a reply on the 19th. I'm at #65.

If the queue is being emptied on a semi-regular basis (say, once every week or 2), I might as well stand in line. If it isn't, may I beg an invite from someone? I don't know the etiquette here.

Are you sure that you're at the right place? The AO3 waiting list says that there are only 43 people in the queue right now, and they send invites out in batches of thirty-per-day so everybody on it now should get their invites by Thursday.

Oh, now I see the "that's today", and things make a lot more sense! You typoed the date there, and I was googling around trying to figure out what other "AO3" fandom archive you could have somehow ended up on that would have a wait into the middle of summer. *g*

So, yes, you should have an invite soon!

Oops!

Fuzzy brain is fuzzy. January, yes. It was 65, then 73 when I looked earlier, so someone must be taking care of it!

What is AO3?

And I think you mean ... January?

Plus I'll gladly read any "Love Her and Despair" you have. ^_^

I am still here, with no intention of going anywhere! (You may have stepped out long enough to miss my Facebook rant. DW is somewhat interesting, but it doesn't have critical mass yet. So LJ it is, for me, for fandom, at least for now.)

I assume you mean January 18th/19th and not July -- I'm sure the queue isn't in *that* bad of shape. ;) I don't have any invites right now, but I'm pretty sure that they're still emptying the queue on a regular basis. But let us know when we're in; if an invite turns up between now and then, I can send it your way!

In that case, I shall wait patiently like a good little fan and wait my turn. No fair cutting in line! :)

Hahaha, I'm currently on the treatment for depression and also been busying myself with photography and some little modelling. And desperately wanted to write ;_;

YOU! Hey you. :)

Good to see you stop in.

Good luck with treatment! I hope we can get what we need to get ourselves out of depression. I know you've been down for a long time. We deserve better!

I have seen some of the photos and they are gorgeous.

I'm still trying to find my way around DW and AO3 and all this... but yeah, I can spam the archive with old fic! And not have to have half of it on Pit of Voles, half of it on AFF, neither of which I like (except Pit of Voles does result in some rviews).

I'll get there. But really, there is no rush: what I NEED to do is get Love Her And Despair unstuck.

And I just found that SILLY SILLY Kimahri/Seymour you wrote and posted it to [livejournal.com profile] kimahri_love. How on earth did you managed to write everybody IC with that scenario!?)

I love AO3 because it doesn't make you split out content, you have massive amounts of control over HTML and formatting, and hey: with LHAD, you don't HAVE to choose X or X-2. You can just tag it with both fandoms. :D

(Which is why I asked you originally if you were moving there&7212;because I saw a discussion with KJ you had about what fandom to put things in, and how FF.net and many other places made you choose just one.

And soon they'll be a metatag, anyway, Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2 :D)

As for the Kimahri fic...blind luck, and a [livejournal.com profile] cupcakemonster. >.>

HAH. [livejournal.com profile] cupcakemonster has left fandom for other pastures, but her legacy of win lives on. (My Rikku is inspired by hers, as my Nooj and Paine are inspired by KJ's).

And yes, the other lovely thing about AO3 is that it permits pictures. Generally, I wouldn't put the little graphics that I've been using to make my post headers jump out (shameless visual plug). But now and then I scribble a fanart to go with the story. Or even a fanvid, to which I could LINK.

AO3 is lovely. I am very grateful to all the folks (including you) who have been laboring to get it going.
