I think I have an unconscious tip of the pen to your great Dona/Barthello story, because I'm pretty sure when I reread it after Muggy posted the link that it seemed familiar.
Auron had to be more patient with children than adults, or Tidus would be shish kabobs. But also he may simply not know what to do. (I can't squash the little bugger; it'll break and then people will be upset. If I stand very still it will leave soon enough.)
