(I gather that the king of Baron may have been in love with Cecilia before she fell in love with Kluya; that would explain why Baron adopted Cecil as his heir.) - So I actually read it as Cecilia being the King's sister, for some reason, on my first go-round. I have no idea what pushed that idea on me, but there you go. I think it was something about "because of my cowardice" - not willing to protect even his own family.
I agree with Rosa. That said, I think that Kain, like Golbez, was a ripe target for mind control partly because he had some repressed, not-so-noble urges for Zemus to work with. Yup. pretty much.
I thought the "no use arguing with a woman" was Edge's line, but I might be misremembering.
Ogopogo was part of the original ad campaign for FF4, which I find fascinating. I can't remember where I saw it, but it was like a big two-page spread that threatened the viewer with how badly Ogopogo was going to kick your ass, and went on to observe that he was only one of hundreds.
