FFX Fanfic Challenge: Kimahri Crack for 6/6/08

For reasons best known to the Imp of the Perverse, trekqueen, I, and (?) (Cupcake, was that you?) were seized with insanity on 6/6/06 and spontaneously posted Kimahri pr0n.



We missed the date last year. This year, Trekqueen reminded me in time, and I've just written something all at one sitting that definitely should never see the light of day. However, in the name of tradition (and because that way she has to post hers), I will share it when the time comes.

In the meantime, I issue a challenge to the rest of the loony bin: please honor Kimahri with warm fuzzies on 6/6. Entries may be of any length; content must include Kimahri and sex. Remember to use the LJ adult content flag.

Because Kimahri never gets enough lovin'.

*snerk* hehehe, I got all jumpy when I saw your post. I think it was CupCake too who was in on it. I will have to go poke and pester her. :D I have a few ideas for my fic, of course I ended up being at work super late last night but I'm going to see if I can leave early. :O

Random stalker! Here through your Lulu fics. Just to let you know, I am wholly in support of this day. Kimahri needs more appreciation. >D ♥ (Also, I read your fic for '06 on FicWad and, yes, thought it was awesome, and have been secretly wondering where there could be more like that, so I am extremely happy that Kimahri-day is being repeated. T_T) --your fics, in general? Absolutely beautiful, by the way. Your characterisation of Lulu is shivery-awesome-perfect and, just as a random side, I love the way you describe magic. I have a weakness for people who take the time to see it as something more than just flashy effects... as something that shapes a person, that's intimately connected with them, as an almost sensual thing. Butanyway.

Oh, also, random question: I had stumbled across a fic recently that was about something like... why Lulu offered to be Yuna's fayth, and how she felt about that, or something. (Clarification: the reason I don't know much about it is because I hadn't read it, because I've only just got up to that bit of the game. So I was like "noes, spoilers" and... now I want to read it.) And I can't find it now, and really want to refind it and was wondering if you might know anything about where it was. (Or have written it.)

Alas, my Kimahri-installment for this year isn't quite as entertaining. It's okay, but that other one was just silly-fun.

Re: Lulu-as-fayth. That may have been one of mine, except that I haven't gone into the reasons why Lulu offered, so it's possible you ran across someone else's fic addressing the same plotbunny.

I wrote a one-shot called "Love Her and Despair" playing with that plotbunny, then decided it really needed to be a multi-chapter serial epic extravaganza. So if you check this LJ you'll see some "Love Her and Despair" entries, plus it's archived on ficwad (http://www.ficwad.com/story/85765) (where I changed the original one-shot's title to "Venus Rising" to tell them apart, so "Venus Rising" is kind of a spoiler to the saga. And both are spoilers to the point in the game that you've just gotten to, but diverge from that moment and go off in an alternate universe direction.)

The latest chapter is giving me fits; half of it is exquisite and ready to go, and the other half is mired in characters discussing what to do. Combat and magic I can write. Talking heads? Not so much.

Anyway, thank you, thank you; we should be able to write for the fun of it, but readers make the ego go pit-a-pat.

Glad I could boost the ego; it deserves it! Honestly, I can't wait to finish FFX just so I can read the rest of your fics (the ones I haven't already poked at despite threat of spoilers). That's really why I want to finish it. *_* Lulu's my favourite character hands down; she's powerful and magnificent and dark and complex and yet full of compassion and goodness, and you capture that in a way that makes my heart ache. Since I started playing I've been mostly shipping Lulu/Yuna (mostly because I think it's adorable and, omg, at the beginning Lulu is just all over her. "Are you all right? Did they hurt you? Can I have spurious excuses to touch you now?" Also, magic is hot. Yesss.), but I confess that since I started reading your stuff I've been more open to the Auron/Lulu and Lulu/Rikku light.

Anyway, woot! I shall go off and give you readings now. And friend you so I can keep an eye on the yummy things coming out of this journal, if you don't mind. *stalk stalk stalk*

"Can I have spurious excuses to touch you?" *cackle* Oh, I know. I just redid the above icon because I love it when Lulu fusses over her.

I'm all for Lulu/Yuna, although I don't write enough of it! (Just four drabbles/vignettes (http://auronlu.livejournal.com/tag/lulu/yuna)... but they're all mildly spoilerrific to the end of the game, so save them for later). I love the way Lulu is so protective of Yuna, yet so careful not to smother her, let her make mistakes and find her own path.

Have you posted any? If so, I'd enjoy reading them!

My Lulu/Rikku stuff were giftfics for a fabulous writer, cupcakemonster, who used to write the best Rikku. I'd seen that character as too boppy and cutesy-hyper, until cupcake's fics pointed out to me the nuances I was missing. One of those nuances being that Rikku is so bound and determined to "save Yunie," that while she goes about it differently, she and Lulu actually have that driving goal in common.

I, too, seem to fall back on Lulu as the primary character in my stories, then I explore her relationships with the others. When I'm not writing crack, I like playing with her reliance on Kimahri (who's been watching over Yuna with her for longer, or more vigilantly at least, than Wakka has), her respect for Rikku, and her exasperated fondness for Wakka. About the only character I seem to skimp on is Tidus, which is a pity, since I actually like the kid (clueless, ordinary teenager trying his best to roll with the punches... basically a good-hearted dumb jock.)
