Then I just GOTTA finish. You're a big reason this story exists at all.
*hugs*
Wrote a scene yesterday It's crap
Tried to consolidate the alternate versions of chapter 50 on Friday It's crap
But I realize I just gotta keep throwing the clay at it and beating on it, and that's how it's going to be. I started with the ending six years ago; I just have accumulated so many character threads that it's hard to bridge the gap between here and what I had originally planned to do there.
The hardest part is tying off all the secondary character threads. I keep finding myself tempted to maintain some of those who aren't essential, but I've grown fond of them (I have this great scene with Zuke on the airship, and yet bringing him along would steal some of Isaaru's already limited limelight.) Others are just difficult to shuffle offstage quickly and gracefully. (Crimson Squad, Lucil, Rikku and Wakka's kids.)
Awwh! I feel...a bit of responsibility now. But also pride. :)
I do still poke my head in here now and then, though I'm clearly not active by any means. As you can see by the fact that I've not updated since...June? Gosh I miss long-form blogging, but my life lately doesn't really allow for much beyond the immediate vanity of the ol' facebook stream.
Grad school'll do that, I guess. Miss you (and your characters!) though, and am glad to see you still holding down the fort.

I think I'm going to be doing approximately the same thing.
