In the choice between Elma and Maroda? Always save Elma.

And IMO - having loved this story from the start - I agree with Minty that Maroda is devaluing Lulu & this pisses me off - at him. I am totally supportive of Auron/Lulu, because that is my take from FFX too. They are so perfectly suited for each other!
