Oh, your idea about Cecilia being the king's sister makes all kinds of sense, and that would explain why Cecil is the favored heir over Kain, even though both are adopted. If Cecil is really the nephew? Oh yes. Of course, the king can't be sure, but the fact that he named the boy Cecil is significant. And Kain, of course, would not know why Cecil gets special treatment.

You probably are right about Edge -- not having speakers' names on my screencaps, and doing this write-up two weeks after I'd finished my first playthrough, I was having a little trouble telling speakers on some of them.
Hmm. Except I thought Kain said something leading into that which I did nto screencap. Guess I'll find out when I play again someday. (You know this game better than I do, though, so you're probably right.
