Beautiful new Ages, including one of Catherine's WTF?! ages. (The spirits talk to you!)
FABULOUS graphics: it's like you took Riven and made every location a complete virtual sphere around you that you can zoom in and out, so while it's not free range of movement, it's more photo-realistic than realtime-rendered 3D games like Final Fantasy can pull off. Sirrus, Achenar and Yeesha (now about 12 years old) are all important.
Rand Miller's got a lovely, haunting Atrus monologue and cameos. (Poor guy. He hates acting SO badly, but he's stuck in the role.)
Catherine's away again --oh, how I wish they could get the original Catherine back-- but at least there are messages from her here and there.
The only problem with Revelations is that a few of the puzzles require coordination. Do not be ashamed to use the hints. The story is worth it.
I wonder if Sheepsaver would let us run dear old Riven and MYST masterpiece on Snow Leopard. I should try it sometime.
I got to run around in URU years ago at Cyan HQ before it was released to the public-- so amazing to poke around with Rand FRICKING Miller and Dr. Watson in the D'ni excavations, all of us using virtual 3D avatars of ourselves -- but I never dared buy a subscription! I believe it's open again and is now FREE, open-source, and supported by paypal donations.
