I've been pondering subtlety versus explicitness. I may remove the "thousand years" comment, but the "Lenne" comment serves a secondary purpose: it is not so much a signal that Shuyin is there, but an indication of Elma's masked feelings for her own "Lenne."

I may strike the fact that Nooj used the name before, however. I believe he has a "Lenne" as well, but the connection to her was a brief one, not a longterm relationship.
