This journal began as a place to revel in my Final Fantasy obsession so that I don't spam my non-fandom friends on my personal LJ/DW. Dreamwidth is my primary fandom hub; I cross-post to Livejournal and participate with mixed feelings on Tumblr (good for pics, lousy for in-depth fandom conversations). I started on Livejournal in 2003, and have ported all my old posts here.

My favorite game is Final Fantasy X, but I love all FF incarnations and have been working my way through playing and blogging every single one of them. (Sooner or later I will play Dragon Age.)

My OTP is Auron / Lulu, either as comrades-in-arms or as two souls grabbing a spark of life on the assumption that neither will outlive the pilgrimage. I am partial to yuri, including Elma/Lucil, Fang/Vanille (to read, not write), and -- I KNOW -- Faris/Lenna. However, usually, I prefer genfics, or at least fics where romance and smut isn't the main thrust (so to speak) -- I want magic and summons meta, explorations of the complex and messy worlds, gap-filling stories that tell us what happened in between or before or after scenes in the game, and insightful character studies that make these fictional people come to life. In short, I want the story to go on, and for the game not to be over. Fandom gives me that in abundance.

In RL I am an online writer (female, bi, middle-aged) who posts educational articles on everything from ancient Greece to astronomy, as well as video game and cosplay geekery which earns rather more income. I have MAs in classics and mythological studies -- want fries with that? -- and a cat, and otherwise my life is entirely boring.
