Ack, Luzzu! Such an appropriate way to reintroduce him to the story as you continue to world-build.

Of course Auron would take her place. As aloof as he may seem to the kids, it's fairly clear he's driven by a sense of personal justice. That is, he does what he does for the people he loves, rather than seeking what passes for greater justice in Spira. I think Braska's pilgrimage probably redefined his morals in a big, big way.

Alright, trying to resist getting on yet another Auron tangent, but I do find myself wondering if Sin/Yu Yevon could also be targeting Isaaru's party (the answer might already be in there, but it's been a while since I've read the early chapters), or at least find it a considerable threat due to Auron's guardianship. He's had a good track record of pilgrimages and is clearly learning more about Sin. Perhaps Lulu's history with Auron could also indicate -- or cause -- a chink in the armour. It's an interesting reversal of the usual summoner/beloved guardian configuration that usually happens in Spira.

In any case, you've given yourself a lot of room to wiggle, and I'm excited to see where you take us.
